I am a rare Arizona native. My family and I have strong ties to the area, and I've loved witnessing firsthand the new life that has been breathed into Downtown Tempe. As an ASU graduate, I have lived in various parts of the city over the years, and love the synergy found at the confluence of Mill Avenue and University Drive. On the weekends, I wander Tempe’s meandering streets and often come upon a new bistro or unique coffee shop where I sit and enjoy people-watching and observing the immense growth of Tempe that has unfolded before my eyes.

Recently, I traveled to various western cities including Portland, Seattle, and San Francisco to discover the wonders of the light rail, and how this system has transformed its neighborhood streets. It made me even more excited about the future of Tempe-from Tempe Town Lake and the emerging high-rises to the vibrant nightlife and connectivity and convenience of the light rail. Not to mention the diversity and culture of Arizona State University, one of the largest universities in the United States. Tempe has evolved from a small college town into a bustling urban city center that truly has it all.
