M7 - Downtown Tempe Conference Center Plans Move Forward
May 07, 2008
 M7 in Downtown Tempe

Bullish on Downtown Tempe, a Las Vegas investor is moving forward with plans for building the city's largest convention center, part of the 1.2 million-square foot M7 development on the southeast corner of Mill Avenue and Seventh Street. The development also will include a 200-foot tall hotel and two 300-foot-tall condo towers. Tempe Convention and Visitors' Bureau as well as city officials welcome the conference center, in part based on a recent study that called for 85,000 to 1000,00 square feet of additional conference space. Proximity to ASU, Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport and the Metro light-rail line also bolster the need for additional hotel and conference space that M7 will provide. The conference center is expected to break ground early next year.
